A couple of shows

I am finally caught up with DOWNTON ABBEY.  It was as good as advertised.  Was a little surprised about which characters that they have killed off, and I am looking forward to Season 4.

Also have to continue to rave about HOUSE OF CARDS.  Well written, well acted, and loved the fact that it is only available online, and that they released the entire first season at the same time.  I started it on Friday the 1st of February, and finished it on the 3rd of February.

In separate blog entries, I will talk about different shows.  Stay tuned...

Comics

I have been reading a lot of comic books recently.  Batman and Superman have always been part of the collection dating back to my teenage years.  Recently, I have been collecting a lot of independent comics.  Titles that have been good are THIEF OF THIEVES, MORIARTY, MARA, BIONIC MAN, and AMERICA'S GOT POWERS.

I have also been reading some graphic novels.  LOCKE AND KEY has a good story and good artwork, and I have enjoyed the three EARTH ONE (2 Supermans, 1 Batman) novels.

Also, Zenescope has put out a good series of books.  They began with a re-imagining of the GRIMM FAIRY TALES.  At first glance, they look like your typical T'n'A comic, but once you begin to read it, it does have a connective story that has connections to both their WONDERLAND and NEVERLAND comics.  They are about to role out a new "big bad", and they have multiple comics that will be connected to that.

I have also begun to read Marvel titles following the completed of the 90 books cross title AVENGERS vs XMEN, which is about the return of the Phoenix Force.  So far enjoying ALL NEW XMEN, and UNCANNY XMEN the most.  Still trying to ind back issues of IRON MAN and AVENGERS.  I have UNCANNY AVENGERS but have not started it yet.

Will look for older issues at the WONDERCON in Anaheim at the end of March.

The New Year

This is my first post of the new year.  Started the year off sick, so I was watching a lot of TV.  I purchased and watch THE MEN WHO BUILT AMERICA, which was about Vanderbilt, Rockefeller, Carnegie, Morgan, and Ford.  Very good historical documentary.  I also began to watch DOWNTOWN ABBEY, and I am almost done with the first season.  I am enjoying it so far.

In November, I signed up for HULU PLUS, and it has changed my movie watching.  Being able to access this and NETFLIX on my APPLE TV, helps me to catch the shows that I have missed.

Tonight, I watch the second episode of TRUE JUSTICE second season.  It is taking a different direction from the first season, but is still equally as cheesy, and action packed.

I am also so enjoying the final season of FRINGE.  It was the episode prior to the two-hour finale next week, and it was good.  This whole season is tying all of the loose ends, and I can not wait for the finale.

Later this week, I will sum up what I have thought of the shows so far this season.

More to come in 2013.
